Happy Thanksgiving

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  This is my favorite holiday.  I love how it’s all about family, friends and good food.  Not to mention it commences the start of the Christmas season.  Something about this time of year….full of so much love.  This year is even more special since it will be Carlota’s first.  As much as she may not remember these moments, I’m keeping them all imprinted in my head and cherishing every second.

Today’s look was from our trip to NYC.  We were lucky to have perfect weather.  I kept my look simple as usual with all black but added this vest to add texture and color.  I love an army green coat or vest.  They go with everything and give a perfect pop of color.  This vest was a recent purchase from Anthropology so be sure to pop into one of their stores for their Black Friday Sales.

I hope all my American readers are having a Happy Thanksgiving!!FullSizeRender-14IMG_0922IMG_0774IMG_0807IMG_0667IMG_0616IMG_0987

Spring Florals

Lately I have been all about spring and summer dresses.  I rarely wore dresses before pregnancy, but I’ve rediscovered my love for them.  I’m still struggling to loose my pregnancy weight and I’m refusing to buy new jeans or shorts at this moment.  Dresses on the other hand are my go-to.  I feel confident while wearing them, and I’m assuming they will still fit once I shed more of the weight.  This post-pregnancy weight loss is tough.  Since the first month my weight has been stagnant, but  I’m hoping to see some changes in the next upcoming months.

This dress was an old purchase.  I love that it’s loose and flowy in all the right places.  It’s a simple beach style piece but paired with the right accessories you can change the look completely.  I added a fedora and wedges to give this look an edgy vibe.  When I wear a bold piece such as a hat, I keep the rest of my accessories simple.  I like to keep it simple.

California Cool!!

Bitter sweet feelings right now posting one of my last maternity looks on the blog.  It’s so crazy for me to look at these photos with baby girl in my belly as she is currently in my arms gazing into my eyes.  It’s been 3 wonderful and crazy weeks.  I’m sorry I’ve been a little MIA on the blog as I’m trying to embrace all the time I have with my baby girl while she is still this tiny little thing.  There are moments I want to pull my hair out, and then there are others I want to bottle up and cherish forever.  Motherhood is such an amazing experience and I’m trying to soak up every second I have.  Thankfully I still had some pregnancy photos to post, since most days I’m wearing nursing tanks and leggings.  I try to get out of the house for a walk or running errands, but with Carlota feeding what seems to be every 30 minutes I need to be dressed appropriately.

I think this is one of my favorite maternity looks.  All pieces are non-maternity and were found in the back of my closet.  I wore a classic little black dress but made it daytime appropriate by adding this Zara shirt.  Accessorizing with oversized shades, a hat, and ankle boots make this look perfect for a stroll around the streets of Silverlake.

Home for the Holidays!!

After spending just a few days in Barcelona my husband and I went home to Toronto to celebrate the holidays.  We were looking forward to a winter wonderland and to our surprise the weather was quite mild and no snow.  Living in sunny LA this was kind of disappointing.  We made the best of it and took a road trip to Niagara Falls.  It had been years since I visited the falls and I forgot how breathtaking they really are.  My photos don’t do them justice.

Located on the Niagara River and draining Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the combined falls form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world, with a vertical drop of more than 165 feet. One of the 3 falls (Horseshoe falls) is the most powerful waterfall in North America.  It’s such a beautiful sight.

After visiting the falls we went straight to Niagara on the Lake for lunch.  Such a beautiful little town with great boutiques.  It’s definitely a must visit if you are there.
