A Spring in my step

As much as I’m missing the cooler weather, Spring is another fun season for fashion.  It’s that time of year where you can start to layer your summer clothing with your winter staples.  You get to mix and match.  Today’s post is all about that.  I’ve paired a summer silk dress with and oversized winter sweater to create a perfect spring look.

This is so simple and it’s a way to create a new dress with two pieces from your closet.  Living in LA I have a few summer dresses that are perfect for days at the beach.  Adding an oversized sweater, vest or chic jacket can transform a beach look into a stylish chic outfit.

Carlota is wearing a Rag to Raches romper.  I’m a sucker for getting Carlota clothing from small online boutiques.  This brand has the hippest rompers for your little ones.  They were recently seen on Shark Tank so I’m sure big things will be happening for this company.

I’ve been looking on Instagram and Etsy for the perfect party favors for Carlota’s first birthday.  I can’t believe she will be 1 at the end of this month.  So much to plan and not enough time.  If any of you have any recommendations please let me know.

With love,

Andrea

Sweater weather??

It’s still winter in most areas of the world but certainly not in LA.  It almost feels like summer is right around the corner.  I can probably pack up my oversized sweaters for next year, but I just can’t help myself.  I keep them for those off days where the weather drops below 70.  If you are on the lookout for a great oversized sweater, now is the time to purchase.  Many shops are having their end of season sales and I will link some great ones at the end of this post.

I kept todays look simple and sporty with sneakers.  I’ve been a big fan of sneakers lately.  I think it’s the combination of LA casual and mom life.  Who wants to be running after a baby in pumps?!?  Any mom that can do that daily I give major props to.  I know I can barely keep up in my sneakers.  I remember when converse and Adidas originals were the “it” shoes when I was in grade school.  I love how the cycle has come full circle and I’m re-living my childhood with both.

Carlota is wearing her…. or shall I say my favorite “Wondersuits”.  These zipper onesies  come in the cutest patterns and are super handy and easy for multiple diaper changes.  I’m slowly learning that the more convenient the better.

To you mama’s reading my blog…what are your favorite baby clothes or items that make life more convenient?

With love,

Andrea

Plan check

I love a good oversized sweater.  The larger the better.  If you ask me what a must have winter item is…..it’s a large cozy sweater!  It’s a perfect piece to just throw on over some skinny jeans or leggings and you look put together.  You can also layer it over a collared shirt, add a leather jacket, or wear it as a dress.  There are so many options.

Its a perfect gift for anyone on your Christmas list.  I love the checkered detail on this sweater.  The contrast of the white on black and the fuzzy texture adds just enough detail.  Because this sweater makes a statement for itself I kept the rest of the look simple with all black.

Happy Thanksgiving

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  This is my favorite holiday.  I love how it’s all about family, friends and good food.  Not to mention it commences the start of the Christmas season.  Something about this time of year….full of so much love.  This year is even more special since it will be Carlota’s first.  As much as she may not remember these moments, I’m keeping them all imprinted in my head and cherishing every second.

Today’s look was from our trip to NYC.  We were lucky to have perfect weather.  I kept my look simple as usual with all black but added this vest to add texture and color.  I love an army green coat or vest.  They go with everything and give a perfect pop of color.  This vest was a recent purchase from Anthropology so be sure to pop into one of their stores for their Black Friday Sales.

I hope all my American readers are having a Happy Thanksgiving!!FullSizeRender-14IMG_0922IMG_0774IMG_0807IMG_0667IMG_0616IMG_0987

Our New York Adventures + GIVEAWAY

Fall in the city is my favorite, and it was just as magical as I remembered it.  The weather couldn’t have been better and it was perfect for exploring the city with Carlota.  My husband and I were nervous about our first flight with her.  Would we be that couple with the baby that won’t stop crying?!  Not to mention….how many bags would we need to take with us for a 4 day trip?  Do we bring our large stroller….get an umbrella stroller….the list went on and on.  We knew we needed to pack as light as we could but also be able to walk around the city with everything we needed for Carlota.  We packed her diaper bag with only the essentials, brought our Bugaboo stroller and Ergo Carrier, and it was the perfect option for us.  Thank goodness she was a perfect angel on the flight.  She slept for take off and landing and was happy for most of the trip.  She gets a little fussy when we sit down with her for too long so a couple of trips along the isles were the magic touch.

We walked all over Manhattan and even ventured to the underground for her first Subway ride.  The New York subway line is not really made for strollers and babies, but we managed.  I’d have to say Carlota’s favorite was Central Park.  We put her in the leaves for photos and she was having so much fun playing and eating them.  I enjoyed exploring and walking around the city with my family.

I loved being able to wear my boots and fall layers without needing to be bundled up.  Thankfully we brought the cooler weather back to LA.   What are your favorite places to visit in the city?

A New York Minute

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Tomorrow we are off to New York City!!  I love the East Coast in the Fall and NYC is one of my favorite cities to visit.  I love walking around all day taking in all the hustle and bustle.  This will be our first time flying with Carlota and I’m excited and nervous at the same time.  We’ll be traveling to Spain for the holidays so this will be good practice for that lengthy flight.  Do any of you mamas have any tips or tricks for traveling with a 7 month old?  I’m worried about how many things we will need to pack and travel with.  Days of only a carry-on are long gone.

The warmer LA weather called for white jeans and a stripped tank this past weekend.  I’m looking forward to sweater and layering weather since it’s been 80 degrees in LA these past few weeks.  I’ll finally be able to pull out some of my fall looks.

This New York trip will be very different from my previous visits there, but I’m sure it will be very special.  If you have any recommendations please share!!

A Touch of Lace

One of my pregnancy staples is the sweater dress.  I have always been a fan of them, especially with over the knee boots.  There is something about that look that I find so sexy.  The weather in LA has not been very conducive to wearing my OTK boots so I had to resort to my second favorite, the ankle boot.

As soon as I saw this dress I knew I had to have it.  I love the translucency of the sweater and the lace slip that peeks through from the bottom hem.  It is dainty and feminine which is in contrast to most sweater dresses.

I paired the dress with my Anine Bing ankle boots.  I think the studs give the look a more edgy vibe!
