I hope you are having a great weekend.  We’ve been taking it easy over here taking Carlota to swim lessons, walks to the farmers market and the park.  I love these simple weekends with my little family.  Im just trying to soak in these moments as much as I can.

Here are a few of my looks this past week that didn’t make the blog.

Sorry for making this a short one….time to go play with my babe!!!

No longer a baby!?!

In just over a week my little angel is going to be one!!!  ONE!!  I still don’t think I can wrap my head around this.  Today was graduation day.  How have I already experienced a graduation with her.  lol.  She graduated from our Mommy & me class and it was such a bitter sweet experience.  I am proud of the little lady she’s becoming and so sad that my tiny baby isn’t so tiny any more.  This class and the mama’s I’ve met have been such a support system for me.  For any first time moms, I couldn’t recommend joining a group like this enough.  Having friends and a support system of people going through the exact same things as you is amazing.  Especially that first year of sleepless nights, new emotions and many firsts.

Lately Carlota has been keeping my hands full.  There are just not enough hours in the day and unfortunately I haven’t had as much time to focus on my blog.  I don’t know how all the mama bloggers do it out there.

Normally you will see the both of us in jeans and a T-shirt but today we got dolled up.  This  shift dress is perfect for any occasion.  I could dress it down or pair it with these boots and hat for a hip night out.  Maybe I need to start planning some more of those soon so that I can wear it more often!!  This clutch is handmade by J c & e and I just love the details. Its perfect for sprucing a simple monochromatic look.

Thanks for stopping by.

With Love,

Andrea

24 hours are just not enough

I’m starting this blog post on my sofa at 7 am, pumping and getting ready for my workday.  It seems this may be the best or only time this week to work on a post.  My days are slowly melting into weeks and before I know it, it’s a new month.  Evenings of relaxing, watching TV, and catching up on blog posts are a thing of the past.  Carlota has started a phase where all she wants is to be in mommy’s arms.  Sitting  beside me playing is not enough.  As much as I long for some more “me time” , I’m going to cherish these precious moments.  Before you know it, miss independent will want nothing to do with me and I will reminisce on these days.

This post is all about my favorite neutrals white and pink.  I can’t get enough.  With October being Breast Cancer awareness month, I can’t think of a more appropriate color.  I have an obsession with white jeans lately and these J brands are my favorite.  They are stretchy and soft and fit in all the right places.  I love the knee rips and ankle cut off.  Showing a little ankle can help add a little length to your legs.  Just add a pair of rocking heels and you are set.

These rockstuds have been all the rage on Instagram the past couple of years and don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.  With their gunmetal pyramid stud detailing they make a statement with any simple look.  For 4 1/4 inch heels, they are surprisingly comfortable.  They have quickly become my favorite heel.

Two pumping sessions later, I think I have finally finished my first blog post in October.   When did 24 hours a day become not enough?

Denim dress on repeat!!

While the East Coast is still in full fledge winter mode, its been quite the opposite here in LA LA land.  All I want to wear is something easy and breezy.  I’m thankful that baby girl is coming in 4 weeks because I don’t know how pregnant ladies handle their 3rd trimester during the summer.  I’m already constantly hot and sweaty and the weather has been pretty perfect.  It’s a weird feeling for me because normally I’m always cold.  I’m constantly in need of layers when I go out….now I can’t get enough of the AC!!

This denim dress was one of my first pregnancy purchases back in my first trimester.  It’s on the verge of no longer fitting over my growing bump, but lasting through 8 months of pregnancy is pretty good.  Not to mention, it will be a perfect addition to my wardrobe postpartum.

Many fashionistas and bloggers wear or photograph stand out pieces once and then you never see them again.  This could be possible if you had a limitless budget, but for the rest of us this is not an option.  Finding basic pieces that suit your style can and should be worn multiple times.  All you have to do is change your accessories, shoes and handbag and voila you have a new transformed look.  Here is a link of how I styled this dress in the fall during the earlier stages of my pregnancy.

Denim daze

I have always been a pants and shirt kinda gal.  Even as a little girl I never liked to wear skirts and dresses.  My mom likes to remind me of this when I wear them occasionally now!!

With my pregnancy I have started to take more interest in dresses and you will see more of them in future blog posts.  I love the way they can camouflage or accentuate your curves depending on the style desired.  There is a level of comfort and freedom with a dress that makes it perfect to wear during pregnancy.

I love this Gap denim dress.  I liked it so much that I bought it in two different colors and patterns.  You can see how I styled the other dress here.  I have seen denim and plaid button down dresses in multiple stores this season and I think they are a great casual piece for anyone especially pregnant women.

I paired it with brown boots and a blanket scarf.  I have had these boots for 6 years and I love their worn and vintage feel.

Crazy for denim

I’m always a big fan of the button down shirt. Most of my wardrobe consists of them, as you will soon see. The bigger and looser they are, the more I am a fan. I love to raid my husbands closet and steal the shirts that he doesn’t wear….or at least I like to think he doesn’t wear. I loved taking his shirts so much that I started to buy my own men’s shirts. I will write about this in another blog post.

When I found out I was pregnant, I soon realized that I needed to update my wardrobe.   Thankfully as I mentioned previously my loose-fitting shirts will be good essentials. As I entered into this awkward stage of gaining weight but not yet needing maternity clothes I realized I need some dresses. I have always been a pants girl. I love dresses but I never really wear them. I have recognized that this needs to change, especially during my pregnancy.

Looking for loose-fitting clothing that will be both comfortable and last as the baby bump grows was on my to do list. As soon as I saw this GAP dress I knew it would be perfect. What’s not to love….it’s a large denim button down shirt (a boyfriend shirt on steroids).  On top of that it was 40% off. So I had to buy the dark denim with the floral print and the faded plain denim versions.

I decided to wear the dress like a large shirt and paired it with booties for this post. I have also worn it tied with a belt and ballerina flats. When the weather gets colder I will pair them with leggings.
